In this issue of our monthly series, I will share equipment, software and exhibition news with you.

Before we begin, I’d like to remind all of you that some new controllers from big names will be in the market for sale soon.

I wrote about some of them in previous posts. February looks like the month for most of them.

So, if you’re looking for new gear, this could be the shopping time.

Without further due, here is February 2014 DJ monthly news..

Numark Remix Toolkit For Mixtrack Series

If you recently purchased a Numark Mixtrack II, Mixtrack Pro II, Mixtrack Edge or Mixtrack Quad, it means you’re eligible for a download called Numark Remix Toolkit.

It is a library of 6 sample packs including over 380 samples made available to you by Prime Loops.

This collection works with any DJ software, just to let you know.

For those not familiar with samples, let me explain. You can use this library to enhance your live mixing sessions by integrating and triggering them on your software or also for electronic music production.

Honestly, this would be quite a purchase if you want to buy it. Luckily, Remix Toolkit turns into a free download from Numark when you visit their website and just register your product mentioned above.

Affordable Pioneer Quality: DDJ-SB

I wrote about this new edition of Pioneer DJ digital series back in November when it was first released. The “more compact and portable” version of DDJ family.

A 2-channel controller designed for Serato DJ software. This doesn’t mean it does not work with others.

I wanted to remind my readers about this remarkable Pioneer product with a very reasonable $249 price tag nowadays. If you’re shopping, I suggest you consider this controller.

Performance pads, filter fade function, big classic Pioneer style jogwheels are among the great features of DDJ-SB.

This USB powered unit also comes with built-in sound card. Ideal for beginner and intermediate DJs and candidates.

CDJ Show | Canada

Pioneer DJ will be presenting 2 shows in Canada this year. The first one will be held in Calgary on May 3-4 2014.

Second show is planned in Toronto in fall, date is yet to be announced.

I highly recommend our Canadian readers to visit either one if they get a chance.

DJ shows and exhibitions are great opportunities for public to get a closer look at equipment and have a detailed idea about making decisions for their DJ setups.

CDJ Show will be the ground for over 50 brands to showcase their products. Please visit the official page to get more information.
